INGREDIENTS:
Lilac-Cardamom Syrup
1 cup lilac blossoms, removed from stems
1/2 cup organic granulated sugar
6-7 crushed up cardamom (pods & seeds)
1 cup water
Lemonade
1 cup Lilac-Cardamom Syrup
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 ounces vodka
Club soda to fill the glasses
Ice cubes
Few lemon slices for garnish
WORKING THE MAGIC:
Lilac-Cardamom Syrup
Make sure to remove stems and leaves from lilac blossoms, otherwise they can make your syrup bitter. Gently rinse blossoms in a fine mesh strainer and reserve.
Add water, sugar and cardamom in a small pot, whisking together until sugar is dissolved.
Bring to boil then add lilac blossoms and simmer for 20 minutes.
Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove all the solids.
Allow syrup to cool to room temperature than seal in a jar or bottle. Syrup will keep in the refrigerator like this for up to one month.
To serve
Pour 1/4 cup lemon juice in the bottom of serving glass, top with ice cubes, pour in 1/2 cup lilac-cardamom syrup and vodka.
Top with a splash of club soda, if desired.
Garnish with lemon slices and Enjoy!!
