INGREDIENTS:

Lilac-Cardamom Syrup

  • 1 cup lilac blossoms, removed from stems

  • 1/2 cup organic granulated sugar

  • 6-7 crushed up cardamom (pods & seeds)

  • 1 cup water

Lemonade

  • 1 cup Lilac-Cardamom Syrup

  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 2 ounces vodka

  • Club soda to fill the glasses

  • Ice cubes

  • Few lemon slices for garnish

WORKING THE MAGIC:

Lilac-Cardamom Syrup

  1. Make sure to remove stems and leaves from lilac blossoms, otherwise they can make your syrup bitter. Gently rinse blossoms in a fine mesh strainer and reserve.

  2. Add water, sugar and cardamom in a small pot, whisking together until sugar is dissolved.

  3. Bring to boil then add lilac blossoms and simmer for 20 minutes.

  4. Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove all the solids.

  5. Allow syrup to cool to room temperature than seal in a jar or bottle. Syrup will keep in the refrigerator like this for up to one month.

To serve

  1. Pour 1/4 cup lemon juice in the bottom of serving glass, top with ice cubes, pour in 1/2 cup lilac-cardamom syrup and vodka.

  2. Top with a splash of club soda, if desired.

  3. Garnish with lemon slices and Enjoy!!
