INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp custard powder
2 tsp milk powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
2 pinch saffron
1 pinch salt
FOR GLAZE
1/4 cup milk
8-10 saffron stands
WORKING THE MAGIC:
Preheat Oven to 350F/180C.
In a large mixing bowl, add soft butter & powdered sugar, and mix it well. Add milk and mix very well for 2 minutes.
Take another mixing bowl, and to it add all purpose flour, custard powder, milk powder, baking powder, cardamom powder, saffron and salt and mix well.
Add the butter, milk and sugar mixture to flour mix and make a soft dough.
Roll the dough into a thin sheet, about 1 cm thick.
Using a cookie cutter, cut them into desired shape and arrange the cookies on a lined baking tray with parchment paper.
Now, make a mixture of milk and saffron for glazing the cookies before we bake them.
Glaze the cookies with the milk and saffron mixture using a silicon brush.
Bake the cookies at 350F/180C for 15-17 minutes and make sure to not let them get brown. Remove from the oven and finish cooling the cookies on a cooling rack.
Enjoy them as is or dip in chocolate and garnish with your choice of nuts.
