Spiced Hot Chocolate | Vegan Option

This decadent, rich cup of spiced hot chocolate is the definition of cozy. It’s warm, velvety sweet and spicy. If you’re feeling really decadent and fancy (as you should), add a splash of coconut cream or heavy cream just before serving. It truly feels like a hug from inside.

cook time - 10 minutes

total time - 15 minutes


INGREDIENTS:


2 cups milk of your choice

1 tsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp semisweet chocolate, finely chopped

1/8 tsp nutmeg powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

1/2 tsp dry ginger powder

Lightly sweetened whipped cream (for serving)


WORKING THE MAGIC:


Bring milk to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add nutmeg, cinnamon & dry ginger powder. Whisk in cocoa powder and chocolate until no lumps remain. Whisk frequently, until mixture is smooth and creamy and chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes.


Divide hot chocolate among 2 mugs. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle grated chocolate.
