dash of nutmeg powder
pinch of black pepper
1 ripe banana, mashed
FOR CANDIED PECANS
4 tbsp pecans
2 tbsp maple syrup
pinch of salt
OPTIONAL TOPPINGS
fresh berries
Almond butter
Flaxseed meal
Hemp seeds
WORKING THE MAGIC:
Add add oats, plant-based milk, water, coconut sugar, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, black pepper and, salt in a medium-sized pot, and stir to combine.
Bring to a boil over medium high heat.
Stir well and reduce heat, add mashed banana and simmer about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir, remove from heat, and cover for 5 minutes.
To make candied pecans, maple syrup and salt in a non-stick pan and stir well over medium heat. Add the pecans and cook, stirring to coat the pecans in the syrup. Allow to reduce, stirring occasionally to ensure the pecans and syrup don't burn, for about 5 minutes.
Serve warm oatmeal with candied pecans and desired toppings & Enjoy!
